Biography

Igor Djeke aka Iggy Knucklehead, was born in Vinkovci, Croatia in 1976. His interest in harmonica began at the age of 20. By playing blues and garage classics he taught himself the harmonica and built his own style. He began playing actively around 1999. at the various jam sessions.

At the end of 2001., he forms the garage band Thee Knuckleheads with his friends with whom he spent nine years playing from obscure 50s and 60s rock’n’roll instrumentals, over garage punk'n'roll covers to their original material in the style they named garage soul. The band has a heap of concerts and gigs behind them, various album releases and flaming harp as the trademark. http://www.myspace.com/theeknuckleheads

In 2005. Iggy starts the Harp Player blog, gathering the harmonica enthusiasts. The blog grew to a portal, today the only web page dedicated to the harp players and new-created harmonica scene in
Croatia.  http://harpplayer.blog.hr/

Iggy is the regular attendee of the blues harp festivals, teacher on harmonica workshops and has appeared on albums of couple of regional garage bands (The Babies, Erotic Biljan & His Heretics, Gatuzo, SUS ...). For a while he played with the reggae dub band Sopotopot and currently performs as a one man band Harp Explosion. http://www.myspace.com/iggyknucklehead

As Harp Explosion, Iggy is playing dirty garage blues using only harps, vocal and tambourine with live overdubbing over drum loops.
So far he has self recorded and released a few demo albums and appeared on a couple of compilations.
